Dear Ann Arbor Open School Families:
Wow! From the number of items on my own calendar, and watching class after class go on field trips large and small, it’s easy to see we’re approaching the end of the school year. The buzz in the building is strong as we work toward completing goals, finishing projects, and enjoying end-of-year traditions. Thank you to all families for their continued support of our students, staff, and the program here at A2O.
A few items to note:
• I know we remind folks to check out the lost and found on a regular basis. But seriously folks – it’s grown to a monumental collection this year! There are literally thousands of dollars of clothes (especially expensive outerwear), lunch boxes, swim gear, etc. All will be donated after the ice cream social, but please make an effort to stop by and look for items that belong at your house.
• Lunch balances must be paid down before the school year ends. At this time, our school is approximately $ 700.00 in the red. There are several families who owe very small amounts individually, but you can see that they add up. Please take a few minutes to reconcile these accounts so that our general budget doesn’t take the hit.
• Items checked out to students (instruments, library books, calculators, etc.) will need to be returned to school during the next couple of weeks. We complete huge inventories that directly affect the ease of start up in August. It is crucial that school materials are found at home and returned to school.
• Check out the calendar on our web page – we have so many fun events coming up! Classroom performances, Field Day, the Ice Cream Social and 8th Grade Graduation are all on the horizon. Hope to see you there!
