ANGELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RECEIVES AWARD FOR
OUTSTANDING ARTS EDUCATION!
“ I am delighted to write that UMS plans to give Angell Elementary the 2011 UMS “School of the Year” award! The UM University Musical Society give this award each year to a school that has not only demonstrated a commitment to UMS K-12 programs, but to making arts education a priority for all children that come through its doors. Angell certainly demonstrates this commitment, through not only its participation in UMS programs (with special thanks to Joan Singer for her long standing participation and advocacy), but the entire school’s commitment to celebrating the arts and cultures of the world throughout curricular and extracurricular efforts… valuing the impact that the arts has on the holistic development of their students! “
