Community Resource Class

How To Register for an CR Class

Pre-Registration / Registration Instructions

Go to the AAPS Moodle site at http://moodle2.wash.k12.mi.us/aaps.

Students will need to log into the Moodle with a login name and a password.

AAPS students: Use existing server login (yearofgraduationlastnamefirstname) and password (studentnumber). Sometimes a student’s middle initial is used after the first name.

Note: If this is your first time on the AAPSMoodle you will need to complete your profile. Make sure you enter info for all starred items. Under description, please enter “Student”.

Under High Schools, select “Community Resource Program”.

Select the “Community Resource – Fall 2012” link and follow the instructions.

 

Instructions for Enrolling in a Fall, Semester 1 CR Class

Step 1 Make sure you enroll in this Moodle first by selecting "Enroll me in this course" under the Administrative block. (Look to the left or right hand side of this block).

Step 2 Complete the Pre-Registration Form (<----- select this link) and print a copy of the form.
Get all the signatures - Student, parent, CR Instructor and counselor/forum leader must sign the form. Select the View Single tab if you do not see your form.

Step 3 Create Syllabus <----- Select this link to see if you have all the needed information in your syllabus.

Step 4 CR Instructor's Volunteer Certification Form <----- Select this link to see if your CR Instructor needs to complete the Volunteer Certification Form.

Step 5 Register by submitting your signed Pre-registration Form, Syllabus, and Volunteer Certification Form to a CR Monitor by June 4.

If the CR Program reaches a maximum number of students, we will use the date and time of the Moodle Pre-Registration to form a wait list for those who have registered.

Step 6 Once your CR is approved and on PowerSchool, complete a CR Orientation.

CR Orientations

The CR orientation will take approximately 30 minutes.

CR Orientation Agenda
1. Who is your CR Monitor? What do they do?
2. How do I drop a CR class?
3. How do you complete your Weekly Moodle Activity Summary?
4. How do you communicate with your CR Monitor using the Moodle?
5. What Documentation will you need to show your CR Monitor? When and how do you get it to them?

Notes:

  • A CR Monitor will contact the CR Instructor for the approval process. The CR Monitor will notify students if their course is not approved.
  • A CR class will be added to a student's schedule only after it has been approved.
  • A CR class follows the same drop deadline and grade reporting as all classes. CR Monitors are the only person who can drop a CR from a student’s schedule.
  • A CR Monitor will contact the CR Instructor 4 - 5 times over the course of the semester.
  • The student must provide the CR Monitor with documentation of completed work and/or a journal of activities several times over the course of the semester.
  • All students taking a CR will need to submit a weekly summary on the AAPS Moodle CR portal.
  • All students will need to attend a CR Orientation.
