CRAD Sub-Groups

Equity Team: There are equity teams at every AAPS school.  The CHS equity team includes 5 staff members and is a sub-group of C-RAD.  They represent the school at district level equity team meetings and trainings.  The focus is to work toward reducing the achievement gap.  Toward this end, the group will encourage and help facilitate courageous conversations among staff.  AAPS is in the third year of an Anti-Racism and Equity Initiative guided by the work of Glenn Singleton.  Our equity team is charged with bringing this work to the CHS staff through staff development.  Activities:
  • Plan mini-course on Whiteness or White Privilege
  • Discussing and brainstorming strategies for more critical conversations among the staff
  • Creating situational vignettes for professional development discussions
Outreach Committee: This committee works in collaboration with C-RAD and has the specific goal of increasing racial/ethnic diversity among the student population at Community.
