Bartman Scholarship
Attention Seniors: On-Line applications are now available for the Bartman Scholarship. The Bruce Bartman Scholarship is Community High School's oldest and most prestigious award.  It is awarded to the graduating senior who best exemplifies the ideals of Community High School by being a full participant in our alternative program and by contributing to the betterment of the school community. Applications should be filled out at the Ann Arbor Community Foundation痴 website at  http://scholarships.egrant.net/login. In addition to the questions there, applicants should answer these two questions (maximum 1 page each) and submit to the CHS counseling office by the deadline, April 1, 2010.#1. In what way(s) have you most benefited from Community High?#2. In what way(s) have you most contributed to Community High?The student is also required to have been enrolled at CHS for at least a full year before graduation.

Semester 1 CR students
    All notebooks, art projects, tests, textbooks, etc.. from 1st semester that were brought in to the CR office as documentation of your course need to be picked up soon or they will be recycled / thrown away.  We will keep everything until Friday, March 26 but then we need to clear the space.  All materials will be gone after Friday, March 26.  Thank you.

ATTENTION MAY AP TEST TAKERS
    April 1,  2010 is the deadline for all balances due for AP Exams in the Counseling Office.  Either cash or checks payable to:  Ann Arbor Public Schools accepted.

Cosmetology Program
Applications for the AAPS Cosmetology Program are available in the Counseling Office and are due around May 1.  This 2-year certification program allows CHS grads to have practicing license in the field, and at no cost!  See John or Diane for more information.

IMPORTANT SENIOR INFORMATION
GRADUATION SLIDE SHOW PHOTOS DUE 3/31/10 IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE.  Each senior should turn in a childhood photo AND a current photo if you want to participate in this very special segment of the CHS graduation program.  BOTH PHOTOS MUST BE HARD COPIES.  Be sure to put your name on each photo back so that photos can be returned.

    THANK YOU EXPRESSIONS FOR GRADUATION BOOKLET DUE 4/30/10.  If seniors would like to express more at graduation than the 30-second graduation speech will allow,  please EMAIL written expressions to John Boshoven:  boshoven@aaps.k12.mi.us.  ONLY WRITTEN, EMAILED EXPRESSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

CET Fund Raiser!
Enjoy a wonderful evening of music, performance and pie, and bid for low-cost items through Community Ensemble Theater’s Third Annual Benefit Show and Silent Auction. Community High’s Ensemble Theater members will perform musical numbers and scenes, and will be joined by members of other high school performance groups and bands. Bidding for the silent auction will take place before the show and during intermissions and will include low-cost items that will appeal to adults, children and high school students.  There will also be a huge variety of pie slices available, as well as whole pies for sale. Items are available for viewing and bidding at 6:00 p.m.; the Benefit Show will start at 7:00 p.m. Craft Theater at Community High School (across from Kerrytown - parking is available in the Community High School parking lot and at Kerrytown). Benefit show tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, students and seniors.  There is no charge to bid on the items or buy pies. Call 662-1693 for further information and ask for Jennifer.

Important Invitation
    Did you know that there is a Peer Education group at Community that works with the University of Michigan Depression Center to educate students about Depression?  If you'd like to know more, come to its first in a 3-part lunch series on March 25.  Dr. Leslie Swanson will present her thoughts on Teenagers: Sleep and Depression.  AND there will be free pizza. BONEYARD OPEN AFTER FORUM FOR E2020
    On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there will be a math teacher available in the Boneyard after forum to offer math and technical support for any students working on E2020 coursework. All students working on E2020 are encouraged to come down  to the lab from 3:00 to 4:00 on Tuesdays and 2:30 to 3:30 on Thursdays."

Home Building Program
    APPLICATIONS and brochures for the AAPS Student Home Building Program for 2010/11 juniors and seniors are now available in the Counseling Office. The application deadline is Wed, March 24th. Complete the application and turn it in to either John or Diane.
