Eberwhite Families-

Welcome to the 2012-13 school year!  It was nice to see many of you at the Popsicles with the Principal last week.  I hope this letter finds everyone enjoying the last couple weeks of the summer and sharing my excitement for the upcoming year. 

While the Eberwhite staff is busy making final preparations for a great start, we do have a few changes to let you know about.  We extend our best wishes to our parting staff members: Ms. Barnes, Ms. Gouin, Ms. Marshall, Ms. Othman, and Ms. Bert; we wish them well in their new endeavors.  Please join me in welcoming our new Eberwhite staff members:

Tristan Diver- teaching PE along with Ms. VanRyn

Brad Haeflinger- teaching in the WISD special education program

On the first day of school your child will bring home a packet of important information from our office staff, our school nurse and our PTO.  Please be sure to go through it carefully and return the required forms as soon as possible.  In the meanwhile, there are several things for you to know:

School Hours:8:45a.m., first bell rings

8:48a.m., instruction begins

3:42p.m., school day ends

Lunch Hours:We have reconfigured our lunch hour and all students will eat between 11:51a.m. and 12:39p.m.  Hot breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase as it has been in the past.  Costs remain $1.00 and $2.50 respectively. 

Tuesday, September 4^th:First Day of School (look for packet of important information).

PTO Sponsored “Parent Coffee” in the cafeteria 8:50a.m.- 9:30a.m.

Flag Raising Ceremony: about 9:30a.m. in front the school 

Tuesday, September 11^th:Curriculum Night: 5:45p.m (K, 1^st, 2^nd), 6:15p.m. (all), 7:00p.m. (3^rd, 4^th, 5^th)

We’ve conscientiously placed students in the classroom that is best for them based on a number of factors.  If you need to discuss your child’s assignment, please do so with me, after the first two weeks of school.

Don’t forget about our “Meet and Greet” on Wednesday, 8/29 from 4:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.  Students and teachers will have an informal opportunity to meet each other at this time.  Then, I’ll look forward to seeing you at the Flag Raising Ceremony on September 4th.
