Introducing Excent Tera
Excent Tera is an IEP and service tracking software application. It replaced Encore in September 2009. (IEPs created in Encore are no longer available electronically; please see file copies.)
Excent uses a 'thin-client' connection over Microsoft Terminal Services. That basically means that you are connecting and running your session on a server at a remote location (in this case, Jackson Cty ISD). Note: In order to access the Excent server, each user needs to download and configure client software on their laptops or desktops. The configuration will require a call to the help desk or an email to excenthelp.
|Mac users can install the Remote Desktop Connection Client 2 from Microsoft. This is a free download. Download the installer and follow the prompts. Once installed, please call the help desk or email excenthelp.
RDC crashing? Some Mac users recently updated to OSX 10.6.8 and having trouble with RDC may try the free CoRD RDP Client. Download the installer and follow the prompts. Once installed, please call the help desk or email excenthelp.
PC users have a two part update in most cases. In order to take advantage of new printing options, they need to have the following products updated to the listed versions. Please also make sure you are running at least Windows XP SP2. You can check the Windows version by right-clicking 'My Computer' and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu.
Also for PC users, to test your installs to make sure you'll be able to print, download and run the Easy Print Checker app.
Once you have the software installed, please call the help desk or email excenthelp.
