About Mr. Ezekiel
My name is Dan Ezekiel, and I am a science teacher at Forsythe Middle School, in Ann Arbor, MI.
This is my 28th year teaching middle school science (!) I have lots of teachers in my family. Both my grandfathers were teachers, and my dad is a retired U-M professor. My brother and sister are both teachers in California. My wife, Tina, is a 5th grade teacher at Bach Elementary School. Interestingly, I went to Bach, and my wife teaches in the room where I went as a 4th and 6th grader.
I have two children:
My son Lewis is 24, and got his Masters degree from U-M last year. He played trombone in the Michigan Marching Band for 4 years, including the Alamo Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the Capital One Bowl, and President Ford's funeral. He is currently substitute teaching and looking for a job teaching history, so if you know of an opening, please tell me!
My daughter Elaine is 20; she graduated from Pioneer in 2008, then lived in Costa Rica, with a host family and volunteering in an elementary school. She is a sophomore at Kalamazoo College this year.
I love to ride my bike, and I usually ride at least 3000 miles per year, including commuting to Forsythe almost every day. I am a lifelong environmentalist: I helped start Recycle Ann Arbor back in the 1970's, and I currently serve on the City's Greenbelt Advisory Commission.
