TARDY POLICY
(From "Huron High: A Guide for Students and Parents for the 2005-2006 School Year")

In collaboration with Huron teachers, community assistants and administrators the following tardy policy is in effect to maintain a safe and orderly environment we believe is conducive to learning and academic success.

1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD OFFENSE – Student will be swept from the halls, by teachers, community assistants and administrators. Student will be warned and given a red pass back to class.

4TH OFFENSE – Student will be swept from the halls, by teachers,
community assistants and administrators. Student will be warned and
given a red pass back to class. Parent called.

5TH OFFENSE – Student sent to In-School Suspension for the period
and parent called for a meeting. Student may be placed on behavior
contract that may include suspensions.

This intervention is made in addition to any existing policy your teacher
has for dealing with tardiness and non-attendance.

These actions are taken to improve student punctuality and attendance, which directly impacts achievement. We are working to ensure a safe and orderly environment. We are confident that you can meet our expectations. Together, we will make Huron a place where all students feel safe, feel connected and achieve.
