The BPA (Business Professionals of America) organization starts in the Fall of the school year.  Sign ups are around the 2nd week of September and end the 1st week of October. First come first serve.

Priority is given to those students who currently have a business class or have had a business class in the past.  There are about 36 competitive events under three clusters--Financial Services, Administrative Support, Information Technology and Management/Marketing/and Human Resources.

There is an entrepreneurship competition that you can enter in BPA. On occassion it pays a cash prize at the State and National level competition.  Students interested in Entrepreneurship may also enter the Skandalaris Business Plan Competition held each year at EMU student center.  Students may also attend a Entrepreneurship workshop with guest speakers in October and again in February. If you are passionate about business and starting your own business you can join the B-Side of Youth Organization sponsored at EMU campus.

If you plan on becoming a member in the fall, check out our business course offering vs the BPA competitve events that you can choose to enter.  It is advisable to take a business class that corresponds with the competitive event to maximize your chances of winning at the Regional, State and National levels.

Our Regional competition is held the first week in January at Henry Ford Community College.  Our State level competition is held the third week of March in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The National competition rotates among states within the US. This year the National competition will be held in Chicago, Illinois.
