Ann Arbor Huron High School - Business - Business Applications





If you want to experience the business world, its many applications required for business success, then this is the course for you. Using the PC platform, students learn the integration of WORD, ACCESS, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT, and PUBLISHER in various documents utilized in today's workplace.

Classroom learning also includes employment preparation-resume, employment, and letter of application, thank you letter, workplace relationships that promote employment successes. Classroom learning includes college application, college essay/narrative and applications made on-line.

Students work with the computer pheripherals--digital camera, video camera, and scanner.

We develop necessary personal skills like time management, setting priorities, working accurately, following directions, making informed decisions.

This course also has a job option that makes this class different than any other class you will take at Huron. We will help you find a job, or you may be able to receive credit for the job you already have. We have great placements for our students. We offer jobs with many legal and medical offices, governmental offices and local engineering/automotive companies just to name a few.

See our list of employers. We will try to find a job that fits your career interests. Students must work 15 hours per week to receive COE credit. You will receive 1.0 credit (that is like taking 2 classes each semester) for the work you do at your job.

Students can qualify for advance placement credit at WCC through articulation up to 16 college credit hours. Prerequisite desired but not required : Computer Applications I.
