Huron High offers a five year sequence in French and Spanish (first year through fifth year advanced placement, AP) and four years sequence in German and Latin.
Ninth graders normally take first or second year of a language. All student who have taken first year of a language should sign up for the second year.
In Spanish motivated students who did well in 1st year should sign up for 2nd year accelerated (2ac).
In French and German all second year students will be told what they need to do to receive AC credit (grade and extra projects required).
We strongly encourage all students to study a foreign language. The Ann Arbor Pubic Schools has no foreign language requirements, but it is clear that students can improve their cultural horizons and improve their thinking skills as well as their standardized test scores by the study of a foreign language |
