Try Out Information 2012
The Huron athletic department will begin collecting forms and payments in JULY. See the Forms and Fees page for more information.
IMPORTANT before you can try out:
- Physical on file
- Benefit (insurance) fee paid
- Pay-to-play fee
Physical forms will not be accepted at the field.
Only boys who have turned in all the required information will be allowed to tryout.Try Out Schedule
The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) has set the boys soccer practice start date for the 2012 season for Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
Try outs will be held at Riverfront Stadium, Huron High School.
Wed. August 8 7-9 am and 4-6 pm
Thurs. August 9 7-9 am and 4-6 pm
Fri. August 10 7-9 am and 4-6 pm
Tryouts will be conducted with small sided games, two full 11v11 games, two fitness tests and 4 technical sessions.
Players MUST attend ALL tryout sessions to be considered for a team!
To be considered for the varsity team you MUST PASS BOTH FITNESS TESTS!
- 4x 300 yd Shuttle Runs (66 sec)
- Yo-Yo Test – Level 25
Players will be assessed on 5 aspects of the game:
- Individual Skill: Running with the ball, dribbling, turning, shielding.
- Group Possession: Passing, receiving, angles & distance of support, communication, game intelligence.
- Physical & Psychological: speed, strength, attitude, motivation, commitment.
- Attacking: Shooting, heading, attitude to attack, creativity
- Defending: Closing down space, tackling, defensive heading, decision making & positioning.
