WELCOME TO HURON HIGH SCHOOL e-NOTES

Notes from May 11

MAY 14 AAPS BUDGET MEETING AT HURON
Mon, May 14, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Huron Cafeteria
The AAPS Board of Education is now reviewing the budget plan that was presented at the April 25th meeting. The district is facing approximately $17 million in reductions for the 2012/2013 school year. After over $50 million in cuts in the past few years, the decisions of where to make further reductions are very hard and painful. We invite the community to attend a budget forum to review the proposed plan and add your input and advice. You can see the proposed plan at the AAPS website. http://a2schools.org

If you are interested in getting a head start on the math class you plan on taking next school year, consider registering for the one or two week Summer Math Enrichment courses held in Ann Arbor. This is not a credit recovery course. In this course, you will learn the content that will be taught in the first quarter of the school year. 100% of the students who took the summer program courses last year got at least a B in their academic course for the first quarter of the school year, with 80% of the students earning an A. There is also an ACT preparatory course offered to prepare for the September 8th test. The teachers are certified math teachers. If you are interested in any of these courses, visit the website today to get course information, schedule, and registration: www.summermathenrichment.webs.com.
