Here are some of the scholarships offered by the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation of 2011-12.

Each year, AAACF Scholarship Funds award nearly 140 scholarships to local area students. 

Applications for Scholarships that use an online application are due April 1, 2011 unless otherwise noted.   How to Apply:

Specifically for Huron students, the following scholarships are available.

• Cathy Allor Mathematics Scholarship – contact Jennie Hale at jhale@aaacf.org. Online application: http://scholarships.egrant.net/login.aspx

• Morse B. Barker Scholarship – for students attending WCC or Cleary University next year.  HHS Contact is Terry Brown.  Online application: http://scholarships.egrant.net/login.aspx

• Andrew J. Lum Scholar Athlete Award – for members of the Varsity Football team.  Contact Dottie Davis or the Huron football coach. Online application: http://scholarships.egrant.net/login.aspx

• Burt Black Memorial Scholarship - for students with disability or chronic disabling illness. (application attached or .pdf may be downloaded from www.aaacf.org (click on scholarships)

In addition, Huron students should also check out the eligibility criteria for other AAACF scholarship funds--check in the Career Resource Center to see if they qualify – for example:

• Ann Arbor Ad Club Scholarship – Students studying advertising, communications, PR, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
• Walter & Florence Aupperle Scholarship – Students pursuing German Studies at U of M or EMU
• AWC Scholarship Fund for Women in Computing – Female students studying computers, information technology or related field.
• Joseph & Yvonne Dulin Scholarship Fund – Seniors at any Ypsilanti or Ann Arbor Public High School
• Starr D. Kohn, Ph.D. PE Memorial Scholarship Fund – Students at U of M studying Civil Engineering
• Kenneth W. Kramer, PE Memorial Scholarship Fund – Students from the Ann Arbor area studying Civil Engineering.
• NAACP Community Leadership Scholarship Fund – African American students in the Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti/Willow Run area
• Pipe Dream Scholarship – Polish Nationals or students with Polish parentage attending UM or EMU
•  Trigon Scholarship – Male students attending the University of Michigan
