Interior Design

Interior Design is a one-semester course, which fulfills en elective credit from the Ann Arbor Public Schools. This class in an interesting and challenging course that allows you an opportunity to explore some possible career avenues and develop skills that you can apply throughout your life. You can also earn art credit for this course.

Upon successful completion of the class, you will receive .5 (1/2) credit towards graduation. This class also fulfills the required art class for graduation. During this course we will cover the following topics and areas of study.

Units of Study:

  • The need for housing, careers in housing and interiors
  • Choosing where to live, renting versus buying
  • Understanding construction, interior and exterior, and landscaping
  • Architectural design, early home styles and trends in design
  • Elements, principals and the role of color in design
  • Exploration of job and career opportunities in the Design Industry
