Why don't my labels line up correctly?!?

This is NOT a problem with the label template so do not edit the templates!!

PowerSchool produces PDFs which your printer interprets as page-sized pictures. Since you normally don't want pictures to be clipped at the edges, the printer software automatically assumes it should resize the PDF to fit. We don't want that to happen since that will move the text on the labels and they will be offset. You will tell the machine not to scale the printing in the Print Dialog, the screen that pops up and asks how many pages and so forth. See example below. Note that the screen will differ depending on the model printer you use but the setting to watch for and turn off will always refer to page scaling or 'fit to print' and you will always want to turn this OFF or set it to NONE.

Generating Labels for Students Who Have Alternate Parent/Guardian Addresses

First, do a search to locate the students who have the extra mailing checkbox set:

2ndMail_mailing#

In peoplespeak, that's find the records where this field is NOT blank

In the group functions list, select Print Mailing Labels

Select the 'Second ParGuar Label 3-up' labels and print

If you do not see all the names you expect, look up students and check the parent/guardian address information under either the Parent/Guardian screen or the Complete Registration Screen. If the address is there, make sure the 'Requires Second Mailing' checkbox is ticked.
