She received her Master's degree in Community Health Nursing and Nursing Administration from the University of Michigan. Her work has always involved bringing quality health care to where it is easily accessible and helping to decrease the barriers people face in obtaining health care.

cindy_small.jpg Cindy Darling-Fisher, PhD, APRN, BC, FNP is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the RASH School Based Health Centers at East Middle School and Scarlett Middle School and Willow Run Comnmunity Schools.  She received her BSN from Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing, her MS in the Family Health Nurse Clinician program at the University of Rochester, and her PhD from the University of Michigan.  In addition to her clinical practice at RAHS, she co-coordinates the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the UM School of Nursing and teaches in that program. She has special interests in strengths-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families, and adolescent risk reduction.
shajuan_small.jpg Shajuan Hardy is the medical assistant at Stone High School's RAHS clinic. Prior to working at RAHS she was a medical assistant for 4 1/2 years in the OB/GYB clinic at the University of Michigan Hospital. She is also currently in school studying nursing. Working at RAHS, she strives to make a difference by helping teens with the day to day challenges in their lives.

Shannon Hill, LMSW CPS-M, is the Prevention Programs Coordinator at RAHS. She earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from William Tyndale College. Shannon has worked as a family preservation counselor and as a school social worker in the Detroit area. She has a passion for holistic health (physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual) especially for people with disadvantaged social and economic conditions. She also enjoys athletics, traveling, and working with students and families of other cultures.

Starla Marshall has been a medical assistant since 1992 and came to RAhs in April 2001. She has worked with adolescents in the past serving as a member on a youth leadership council. Starla is from Ypsilanti and loves helping her community achieve healthy lifestyles through the services provide by the Wellness Center.

Lydia McBurrows is the certified pediatric nurse practitioner at the RAHS School Based Health Center at Stone High School. She received her BS and MS in nursing at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. She has worked in pediatric nursing over 12 years and is committed to adolescent health. Her first love is school-based health where she can work with teens in their environment reducing health disparities and risk taking behavior through health education and program development.
janice_small.jpg Janice Mitcham, MPH, LMSW is a clinical social worker.  She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.   Janice also received her Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois in the area of community health, with a focus on maternal and child health.    Her interests include working with the family system from birth to the older adult.  Janice enjoys traveling, scrapbooking and working with people from diverse cultures.

Tiffany Moore LLMSW, is a clinical social worker at Stone High School. She earned her Master's degree in clinical social work from University of California, Berkeley, and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Prior to her work with RAHS, she worked in a school-based wellness center in San Francisco, CA. In addition to school-based health, she has worked with children, adolescents and families in an outpatient mental health facility and done mental health work at a juvenile detention center. Tiffany has worked with adolescents since she was one herself, first as a peer mentor, then in prevention and after-school programs in Detroit. Her passion for working with teens comes from the excitement of helping others reach their potential at such a crucial stage in development...and from the fact that it's just a lot of fun!

Kyle Murphy has been with RAHS since 2003, working in a variety of roles.  Since 2007, she has been a medical assistant, starting at Stone High School's RAHS Clinic, and moving to Willow Run's RAHS Clinic in 2008.  Kyle's motivation is the kids -- she loves them as if they were her own.

Margie Nemerovski, LMSW, is a clinical social worker at East Middle School. Margie earned both her Bachelor's degree in psychology and her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has worked as a social worker for many years in Ypsilanti, first as a family preservation worker and for the last 6 years as the clinical social worker at the University of Michigan Ypsilanti Health Center. She also worked for 3 1/2 years at the Corner Health Center. Margie enjoys kids of all ages, but especially middle school kids. "I think they are so wise and insightful if you really take the time to listen to them." In her spare time, she enjoys running and playing the cello.
steve_small.jpg Dr. Steve Park, MD, has worked with RAHS since 2002, and assumed the position of Medical Director in 2007.  He provides care for student's at Stone Alternative High School and Scarlett Middle School as well as supervises medical residents and students.  In addition to his role with RAHS, Dr. Park provides primary care to children and adolescents at the University of Michigan Saline Health Center, and Hope Medical Clinic in Ypsilanti, MI. He provides care to seasonal migrant farmworkers in the summer, and travels to Ghana and Nicaragua with residents and students to provide healthcare internationally at least twice a year. Dr. Park loves working with RAHS for many reasons, including the opportunity to reach kids that may never access healthcare otherwise, and for the opportunity to work with a highly integrated and collaborative healthcare team.
 

Julie Poole  MS, RD is a registered dietitian and health educator at Scarlett Middle School and Stone High School. She received her undergraduate degree in dietetics at Michigan State University and her Master’s degree in clinical nutrition at Rush University in Chicago. Prior to working at RAHS, she worked as a clinical dietitian at the University of Michigan Medical Center for three years. She enjoys working with individuals and empowering them to make healthy lifestyle choices, as well as encouraging positive body image.

 

pp__small_.jpg Pattie Postel serves as the Grants and Contracts Administrator for RAHS. With a Master's degree in Recreation and Park Administration from Indiana University, Pattie's eclectic background has included operating residential and day camps, developing the Army's School Age Latch Key program, the Marine Corp's 9-month diversion program for at-risk youth, and serving as a Federal government consultant before moving to Ann Arbor. Before joining RAHS, Pattie worked for the University through Executive Education and then Imagining America.  Imagine that!
 jr__small_.jpg Jennifer Roberts has been a medical assistant since 2000.  She had been working with both adults and kids at the medical procedures unit at University of Michigan Health Services before coming to RAHS. She is currently the medical assistant at Scarlett Middle School.  She is proud to be part of such a dedicated group of people working to help kids achieve healthy lifestyles.

Dale Rominski, LLMSW is a clinical social worker. He earned his Master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan. The last two years, Dale has trained in a residential treatment facility for abused and neglected youth, and as a school social worker. Dale’s passion to work eye to eye with adolescents comes from his awareness of the challenges in which youth face as they develop, along with a deep respect for each adolescent’s individuality as they work to understand their world. Dale’s areas of interest are depression, anger management, grief and loss, body image, and relaxation.
 jens-small.jpg Jennifer Salerno,  RN, MS, CPNP is a nurse practitioner and the University of Michigan Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS) Director. She received her Master of Science from the University of Michigan and her BS in Nursing from Michigan State University. Jennifer spent 4 years working in primary care pediatrics before joining RAHS in 1999. Her interest and research includes adolescent risk assessment and counseling, empowering youth through the use of motivational interviewing and asset building strategies.

Nadia Samaha is the Administrative Assistant for RAHS. She earned her Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Arabic. Also, she volunteers for the University of Michigan Medical School as a Research Associate to identify beliefs about health and illness and health practices within the Muslim American community.

 

 inderjeet.jpg Inderjeet Talwar is a billing/patient accounts specialist and has been with RAHS since May of 2005. She began as a medical assistant at Scarlett Middle School's RAHS clinic and now enjoys providing billing services for 3 of the RAHS clinics. She believes that RAHS helps the community in many ways and being part of it is very special. In her free time she enjoys cooking and being with her family.
 img_beth__small_.jpg Bethany van Helden, MS, RD is a registered dietitian and health educator at East Middle School, and Willow Run Middle/High School. She earned a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University. Bethany has special interests in disease prevention and promotion of positive body image.
