ANN ARBOR REC & ED ADULT VOLLEYBALL TEAMS COMPETE IN THE STATETOURNAMENT

Eight adult teams from Ann Arbor’s Rec & Ed Volleyball League competed in the Michigan Recreation & Parks Association (MRPA) State Tournament held recently in Holland Township and Jackson, winning the State Championship trophy in the Women’s C Division and Runner-Up honors in Wm C and all 3 Men’s divisions:A / BB, B, and C.
On March 27, “Around the Block” won Women’s C, beating fellow Ann Arbor Rec & Ed league team “That’s what she said” in the finals.The captain of “Around the Block” is Kelly Desmond, and the captain of "That’s what she said” is Jenny Lee.
Other Rec & Ed women’s teams that advanced into the Wm C playoffs were “Girls on Top” captained by Ann Murphy, and “Positive Spin” (captain Nancy Brucken).
In the Men’s tournament, “Cluster Flux” was runner up in the top Men’s Division (A / BB). The captain is Jeffrey Fogel.“Short Stack” was runner up in Men’s B (captain is Jon Ralph) while “Club Negril” was runner up in Men’s C. Club Negril captain is Mark Tessmer.
Ann Arbor Rec & Ed volleyball teams have won multiple state championships over the years. The Ann Arbor Volleyball League has over 130 teams competing every week in 4-6 skill divisions.
