Steve, lost 70 lbs.:
"I really like Pete’s principles because they’re realistic. They’re something I can do forever. It’s really easy. The modification in the eating, the exercising, it’s worked out very well. It’s absolutely a life change. And I plan on doing it forever, because I still eat the things I like. I’ve learned to modify a few things, give and take with a few things, but I’ve learned to modify what I like rather than deprive myself of the things I want. So I can stick with it forever and keep the weight off. The biggest thing it’s meant is more energy. I really, really feel good. I’ve been taken off all my medications. My blood pressure now is normal with no medication. I play with my kids a lot more, I’m not as tired. It just means a whole different sort of life, really. I think I might be more productive at work, because I have more energy. I have more confidence for sure, because I feel like I look better. And the confidence helps with the relationships, too. I can’t say enough about Pete as a motivator and a coach and a friend. He’s helped change our family’s lives, really, with the information he’s given us. I mean the class is a hundred and some dollars. It’s really minimal compared to a lot of other diet plans or other classes. What you get is a change of your life for a pittance, really. The average cost is nothing if you spread it out over a lifetime, because you can change your life. "

Carmen, lost 60 lbs.:
"I had been trying to lose weight for quite a few years. I tried a lot of different diets, lost a little weight, but then gained it all back. I have hypothyroidism, so whenever I would talk to my doctors, they kept telling me that I had to lose weight. Anything I would try wouldn’t work, or I would have a little success, but it was just really hard to move any weight with hypothyroidism.
So we heard about Pete’s class, and quite honestly, even though I was ready to lose the weight, I had tried many times before. We made a pact, Steve and I, about not telling anybody that we were going into the class. I guess that was kind of our fall back plan in case it didn’t work. As time started going, we miraculously started seeing changes and we could see that it was actually working, and we started getting excited about it.
Everybody was really supportive on the team and in the class. It really made me feel comfortable, especially at the beginning, that Pete knew...because he had lost so much weight, so it wasn’t like you were taking a class from a skinny person that never had a weight problem. If somebody ran into a challenge, people would try to give ideas--have you tried this; have you thought of that; have you considered this?
One of my highlights is that I dropped 50 points on my cholesterol. I also dropped 10 sizes in my shorts. I have a pair of shorts that I wore at Disney this last year, and I get to go back this year, almost a year later, we’re going to re-do some of our key pictures and I get to wear clothes that are ten sizes smaller, so that’s awesome."
