Please join us for our next PTSO meeting, which will take place on May 7th at 6:30pm in the Media Center. PTSO is seeking new Committee members for 2012/2013 school year. Please contact the PTSO at shsptsopres@gmail.com for further information. We need your support! Skyline PTSO
A Non-Profit 501(C)3 Entity To parents of the Freshmen class – Welcome! To parents of returning students – Welcome Back! The Skyline PTSO is your communication link with the Skyline Community. We are enthusiastic about serving the needs of Parents, Staff, Students and the entire Skyline community during our third school year. Our plans for this school year include for the provision of: Staff Support Grants (Sky Grants) – We want our Skyline Teachers to be able to count on the PTSO for needs that the district won’t provide. Since we have a very new school, requests from the Skyline staff will focus mostly on training, seminars, and continuing education that the district will not fund. Providing for our teachers to attend such training will allow them to learn and incorporate state of the art teaching strategies in our classrooms. It will also serve to motivate and retain the best personnel on our teaching staff. To apply for the Skyline teacher/staff grant please submit the application form. Sponsored Skyline Community Events – Providing funding and volunteers to enable events such as Homecoming, a Mid-Winter Dance, and more is crucial to building a sense of tradition and community. Scholarships – We believe that no Skyline student should be excluded from field trips or special events due to financial need. We strive to provide scholarships to assist when appropriate. Communication with the Skyline community – We manage and update our PTSO website and publish a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed on what is happening at Skyline. We are also working toward other electronic and printed communications including a Skyline Directory to make sure that our families are well informed about Skyline events and other useful information. How you can help make it all happen In order to accomplish this, we truly need your generous support. We are asking for a $30 minimum donation as our annual “PTSO Dues”. Please feel free to donate more if you are able. While the dues are in no way mandatory, we cannot operate without your financial support. We will ask for the dues donation at the upcoming Student Registration, so please consider donating at that time. A PTSO dues envelope will be included in the registration packet for your convenience. If we can be of any help or provide any further information about the Skyline PTSO, please feel free to contact any of the PTSO Board Members. Contact information may be found on the Skyline Website PTSO site below. ******************************************************************************************* COMMUNICATIONS:
